As the Founder of a marketing automation consulting company, Tom Ryan wears a lot of hats.
One of these hats is a digital marketing manager and up until we started working together, Tom had done a great job at setting his website up well for both humans and search engines.
Despite this, Tom knew that he wasn’t an expert in search engine optimisation and he didn’t have the time to learn the ins and outs, nor produce the content and activities needed on an ongoing basis.
I became Tom’s remote SEO freelancer, focused on increasing organic traffic to the site which would convert to enquiries and clients.
How I work with Tom to increase organic traffic
The first stage of my work with Tom was to perform an SEO audit and find out where improvements could be made to the website. Any ‘quick wins’ that would help were implemented right away. For example:
- A focus on page purpose and keyword research
- Meta data updates
- Tweaks to site and page structure
- Technical optimisations for increased site speed etc.
Following these ‘quick wins’, I created a long-term SEO and content strategy. This strategy focused highly on blogs, which I have written and published both on the Marcloud Consulting site and on external sites, in the months since.
