When Jenny Baker first contacted me about improving her local search presence, she had been running her speech pathology practice in Perth, Western Australia, for thirty years.
Historically, clients came from referrals, given by their doctor or school, yet Jenny knew that she needed to more actively promote her business online, to get new patients directly.
A website existed but it wasn’t performing very well for organic search and Jenny simply didn’t have the time to learn or make SEO changes.
How I worked with Jenny to improve her SEO
Following an initial discussion, in which I learned all about Jenny’s areas of expertise and the most important types of clients for her business, I started with keyword and competitor research.
While Jenny continued to manage her practice, I put in the required time to plan, share with her, and then roll out significant changes to Jenny’s website that would help her to rank better in local search results. These included:
- A site page restructure
- Updates to meta data
- A brief redesign of each page for SEO and better user experience
- Technical optimisations
Once the on-site changes were in place, I gave Jenny blog topic recommendations and coaching that would help her to produce content internally and continue to optimise her website over the coming months.
